New Beginnings

Greetings friends!

My name is Jake Kneeland, and welcome to my new project. This site is something completely new that I am invested in, a platform to connect with and hopefully impact as many people as we possibly can, together!

“What in the world is this?” “Did someone hack into his Facebook?”

Whatever it may have been, I appreciate the curiosity, thanks for visiting! Yes, this is me writing. No, you didn’t click on spam, or get directed to the second coming of Limewire (if you don't know, you missed out).

What’s on your mind dude? A lot. I’ve been on a whirlwind of a journey. Within that journey there have been numerous events that have been really good, a few bad, and some ugly. I’ve taken a lot of time to dive in and find out what I want in life, what drives me, what I struggle with, and ultimately who I want to become.

What are things that bring all of you joy? What are things you find yourself doing when you are stressed? What do you do when you want to declutter? Perhaps you head outside with your furry friend. Maybe you put on your headphones and listen to the go-to’s. Do you put on your favorite movie you’ve seen a hundred times?

I enjoy numerous things. It used to be just ice cream and Grandma’s chocolate chip cookies but I’ve expanded. One of the things I find fun, one of the things I find myself doing without even really noticing, is writing. It could be on the deck, in the middle of a movie, listening to a song, or reading a book. I’ll take out my phone for a minute or grab my journal and just start writing. I’m usually jotting down a good quote or a lyric that’s interesting, a thought or distant memory that comes to mind, or a paragraph from my book that I want to go over and understand better. My phone and journal are packed full!

During my younger days I was always told that I could be a great writer. A career in Journalism or Sports Reporting would have been right up my alley. I used to watch basketball games and write my own story on the players as if it were going in the newspaper the next morning. There were sports cards in the Sports Illustrated for Kids magazines that would be torn out and used to re-create this unique basketball world. The imagination, fun, and excitement I had for those stories was nuts! (and my obsession with basketball for those who know me well).

I want to start putting some of my passions to more use. I’ve been a part of different careers, learned a lot of useful skills, and have met some amazing people. This site is a project of mine that I’ve been looking forward to because it fuels me. Helping others and seeing people succeed, grow, smile, and enjoy life fuels me. I plan to open up and utilize this type of platform to have a number of different conversations with all of you, and hopefully we can connect and impact one another!

This is a fluid and ever-changing project, so please communicate! Let me know your thoughts, questions, answers, your favorite John Candy character, anything for good conversation or to make someone smile! Shoot me a note anytime at theitsjustjakeblog@gmail.com.

Cheers!
